New Ruins
How will our descendants in 1000 years view the ruins of today’s buildings? What traces will be left as the superficial layers peel off and dissolve in the perpetual solution of time?
New Ruins imagines a new multi-generational dwelling as it might be seen by those looking back on the anthropocene. It provokes us to consider our designs as though we were geologists of the future, excavating meaning in the mute physical forms laid down by the flux, heave and passage of time.
